Ad Astra

As a child I looked up at the stars.
Now an adult I am out so very far.
Dreams came true and I’m in awe.
The sights I see slam me to the floor.
For every second there is something new.
Even now these are things seen by only a few.
Still not sure how I got so lucky.
Yet some think space is oh so sucky.
An unsafe nightmare wrapped in disaster.
That no life will ever last here.
Though if that were true then we’d already be dead.
Not traversing galaxies about which we’d only previously read.
Making discoveries and taking samples.
Being cautious as we avoid potential tramples,
Of unique flora and entomology.
Not that they are the only living things we see.
For fauna exists all around.
Clearly the stars are filled with life abound.
Its why I am forever smiling.
As every single second of this explorer life is beguiling.
This is why I have to say, that if you want a part in it just like me.
