Blink

Life gone in the blink of an eye.
Executed from a bullets cry.
Reckless and lacking empathy.

Injustice served, another life blinks out.
No change delivered, hence there is doubt.
Words are cheap but still they’re coming.
Forever after and we’re still running.
Cause truths are expletives that some do despise.
That’s why instead they fill their heads with lies.

Self-serving acts that bring no communion.
Truth is some of you don’t want union.
Segregation is better than living in peace.
What a twisted and screwed up belief.

Fixated on agony and how much can be wrought.
Obsessed with forcing relationships to be fraught.
Delivering only negativity into the air.
Hellbent on amplifying only despair.
With bile filled lungs tinged with spite.
Extoll it until you are labelled right.

Face your problems.
Stare them in the eyes.
A bullet is a symptom.
Just like your no comment on genocides.

Obliterated when ordnance does fly.
