I’m like an ember propelled on strong winds.
My determination keeps me floating.
I brave storms and weather them too.
This is the difference between others and us few.
Fighting where others might lay down in defeat.
Refusing to accept that the world has me beat.
And so I swear again, under my breath.
For as long as my heart beats I will always resist.
Not out of spite but for my own peace of mind.
That is why I will continue on and on.
Unilateral defence against those who abuse.
Say what you wish, I don’t need to accuse.
This world is as much mine as it is yours.
If you attempt to change that you will be felled.
Crumple to knees broken by my conviction.
Do you really want such an affliction?
Wade across thresholds never meant to be owned.
Call if you dare in what is my humble abode.
Rally what you can if you must stage an attack.
Just do not be surprised if you never come back.
