Blistering Light

Searching for my place.
Turning away from disgrace.
Seeking high and low.
Nowhere I will not go.
For serenity is the promise it holds.
Worth so much more than riches that can be sold.

Years have passed and still I seek.
Many around have grown too weak.
They barter for short-lived false joy.
Like a spoilt child with a new toy.
Interest fleeting and so I flee.
My quest has a vital unwavering meaning to me.

Nights grown long while days are dull.
I sense an impending travesty will cull.
Split the veil right into two.
I swear I will be standing beside you.
Not being beaten by bracing winds.
Hearing just beyond the fringe those foul things.

Blinding brilliance disarms my focused core.
From it shines more than I dreamed I could adore.
Reaching out I thirst to feel it, if only just this once.
Hypnotised I nearly succumb to its trance.
Disgusted I return to sense and conscience.
Only to throw myself back into my questing!

Two decades long, surrounded only by remnants torn.
I finally stumble, crawl and struggle into my position.
At your side and in the nick of time.
Radiance bathes and heals my affliction.
Born again upon the wings of a pheonix.
You whisper; we seven must cleanse that which is insidious.

Light blistering corruption.
Banishing away vicious seduction.
Right the wrong that has been done.
Return the blazing yellow ball of a sun.
And with all fixed we fade from this plane.
Between dimensions we shall rest ’til we are needed again.
