What Some Fear Most

What scares you more than you can say?
Your reflection staring oh so blankly.
Those eyes glazed over as if they’re dead.
Or some feeling as it comes creeping in.
Whatever it is i know it sends you cold.
Shiver running up and down your spine.
A cackle that unsettles your mind.
Makes your head snap when you hear a sound.
Real or something you’ve imagined.
No way to say and so you wish to run away.
Lock all the exits until such thoughts vacate.
But does your unease ever truly flee?
Cause it sounds like it does not to me.
Count down from ten but stop at three.
Again being watched crawls over thee.
Pushing you so close to the edge you just might slip.
That would be a one way trip.
Screaming as you go down into the pit.
Where darkness is all consuming.
And if you touch it you’re not moving.
