Sweet Dreams

Your sweet dreams drip poison in my ear.
Stop your convolution before it wears me too thin.
Drowning in a desert I can’t find my way to erode from within.
Plagues are toys to martyrs chugging on hopes of justification.
Take these pills and I’ll fade into subjective oblivion.

Wash tides that seldom string thoughts coherent.
Slot in runes until what remains is only to circumnavigate.
Fracture moments that otherwise overwhelm my movements in time.
Craven posts line up to take swings at what I hoped would be heaven sent.
Get out before my mind flatlines in these prison cells.

Switch between circuits sliced to ribbons.
Waves still crash upon my battered and bruised skin.
Fragments swirl in pixels that never seem to focus right.
These sunrises are blinding as I stare out across night.
Performative notions that continue a corruption burn.

Speak up or bow out.
Tremors are our path.
Option silence breaks futures.
Now I shall fade until I twin with decay!

Float along these fields of sodden rot.
Senses are dulled by what refuses to be cut.
Brain seizing in fogs of days that relentlessly spiral.
Too often my personal feels as thought it is becoming viral.
Invisible strings pull without my intervention.

Your sweet dreams are my crutch.
Put out fires that continue along the rut.
Brandishing bones from bodies long turned to dirt.
From plumes of events long past the errors rear once more.
Singled out as my own existence is lashed until I’m raw.
