I won’t compromise my vision
Even as you spout derision
Watching from none too far away
If only you would just be gone for me
As the fires gut the dream
You claim you are the victim
But I know better than to believe your words
Even gullible fools call you absurd

I won’t betray my feelings
Even as you ridicule my decisions
While trying to pretend you’re innocent
You claim you have no part in it
Stealing every idea you can
Holding up your stained hands
Desperate to mock what you don’t understand
