Crown Of Villainy

Stare hard into my faded reflection.
No matter the day I’ll fail inspection.
Strung out state of how I know I should be.
Dive in this madness to drown perpetually.

State of being.
Yet I’m still not seeing.
Prize that sits right before my eyes.
Blind to futures for which I continue to fight.
Like a dog I refuse to quit.
My loyalty often lands me in shit.
Digging through bones that are very much my own.
Weeks I am alone.
Quicker I go the faster I come undone.

Decimated beneath weight compressing.
Mind won’t quit and so I’m obsessing.
Struggling to crawl along this broken glass.
Forever braced for a potential crash.

Mind of splinters.
These fragments fading.
Glory has been turned to lies.
Hence from deepest depths catastrophe cries.
Preparing to strike like a viper.
Locked on target sniper.
Dissolving freewill once contained within my skin.
Why is this happening?
Feel as though I am a passenger.

Bullied by my own psyche.
Trapped in a cycle of torment.
Running laps around myself.
Voiding my world by butchering my health.

Antidote,
Won’t stop how I choke.
Suffocating,
Carve out this descent.
But it’s too late and now I’m spent.
Treading water that is pulling me down.
All I want is to wear peace and not this barbed wire crown!

Thousand yard gaze won’t break for a moment.
I have become my hardest opponent.
Wrapped in tendrils filled with venom.
Villainy is my final ending.
