Rotten Beating

Tyranny resides within countless hearts.
One false move and you will die where you are.
For days are becoming a little darker as each one passes.
That is why so many lies are being offered in kind.
After all what is another to the mountain outside?
Perhaps we should all just lay down and accept defeat.
Swallow these bitter pills that humanity is a lost cause.
Forever teetering on a precipices edge.
Not how it should be but little ever is.
Seems to be the price to pay for this latest round of greed.
Lapping at periphery rather than being banished away.
Permission has been granted to transform art into ideology.
All so the few can maximise their investments.
Who really cares what lives might be being stepped on.
Ultimately there are more souls desperate for a taste.
And so it is better to exploit than completely waste.
When did it become fashionable for people to be product?
Not a fucking clue but I am disgusted and find it abhorrent.
People should not be valuable only if they have a use.
Them like you have feelings, dreams and fears to boot.
Just because they aren’t high and mighty doesn’t mean they are worth less.
Got to be sick to have a view that differs from this.
For there is no excuse to treat a person like cattle.
Crush their will and slap them in shackles.
Metaphor or not it is a cruel state that exists today.
All this evolution and still we continue to be vicious regularly.
Sad state of being that could do with being retired.
Pity such a thing won’t come to pass in my life time.
Getting surer it will never be allowed to shine.
Yet fingers crossed tyrants will sink without a lifeline.
