Desire to drive it ever higher.
In a manner that is akin to climbing a spire.
Chasing a value that has no end.
Ignoring that it is a toxic trend.

What will it bring you?
Can you spend it in death?
Driving up a figure even while destroying yourself.

See the struggles but walk on by.
Fixated only on your aim in life.
Others issues have no value to you.
You could fix ills but choose not to.
Selfishness is your guiding trait.
Hope for change is far too late.
Stuck in this rut you believe to be a calling.
Oblivious to how many people are falling.
Spouting about how hard your days are.
