Wage

Make the fires blaze
As you focus your gaze
For the soldiers do march
With their shielded hearts

A clatter of steel
As they march for the seal
The flags flying high
With a true sense of pride

The battle soon comes
Fields of blood be done
A clash for the oils
But go the victor the spoils

With enemy are rout
And gallons of stout
Celebrations do fly
All through the sky

Returning to home
Welcomed by everyone
With safety assured
We continue our joy

Drink and be merry
No mind to the ferry
Live while we can
Until death is knocking

Open Road

When the skies are black and you feel lost
Will you search at any cost?
The road less travelled might ease the pain
With rolling clouds and pouring rain
A great distance gone but still not done
Traversing continents without an ending
Sleeping under stary skies of inky black
Embers spit until daylight

Eons pass but still you roam
The open road is your home

As you venture beyond the pale
What little will prevail?
Mountains high and rivers long
Nature sings an endless song
Tracking to win the game
Quenching thirst from canteen
Avoiding predators as you can
Shletering from the storm

Eons pass but still you roam
The open road is your home

City streets of neon light
The cars slink without sight
Towering edifices of darkness
Blotting out the sky above
As sirens roar from all around
There is just so much sound
Numbers you can barely fathom
Time for you to leave and abandon

Eons pass but still you roam
The open road is your home

Curiosity Kills

And here lies the fourth “transcript” of the series (If you want any of the previous three entries, here are the links for Souls In A Jar, Trapped In A Cage and Taste Of Your Own Medicine). Can you tell I’m terrible at introductions? Anyway, here it is:

Transcription/Lost Diary/Old Fathoms/Retelling/Don’t Pry: – Four (4): One (1) Watchful Man, Two (2) Drunk Man, Three (3) Guide, Four (4) Deceiver – Loki

[1] Where did he come from?

[2] Who?

[1] Him.

[2] No idea. Does it matter?

[1] He wasn’t there a second ago.

[2] How can you be sure?

[1] I’ve been staring at that door all night.

[2] That means nothing. You’re drunk.

[1] I’ve had less than half what you have?

[2] Then you’re weak.

[1] Just shut it and drink.

[2] Are you going to join?

[1] If I do who’s going to get you out of the fight you’re inevitably going to start?

[2] I don’t fight.

[1] You do when you’re drunk.

Silence

[2] You think you’re better than me, don’t you?

[1] What?

[2] You heard me.

[1] Don’t start this. Not now.

[2] Why? You worried you’re new flame might get the wrong idea?

[1] Just drink you’re swill.

[2] Not until you’ve bought me two more.

[1] With what?

[2] Your coin.

[1] I have none.

[2] Why not?

[1] Cause I’ve been buying the drinks all night.

[2] Oh yeah. Wondered why I was still drinking.

Silence

[2] I still want another you know?

[1] And how are you going to do that?

[2] Like this.

[2] Excuse me dear man. May I trouble you for a drink?

[1] Shut it will you. It’s not funny.

[2] Oh relax. It’ll be fine.

[3] Are you calling to me?

[2] I am.

[1] Sorry sir. He’s very drunk. Apologise.

[2] Don’t speak for me.

[1] What choice do I have? You’re causing a scene AGAIN!

[2] Bah with you!

[2] Sorry about my friend. He’s uptight.

[2] A drink?

[3] You want me to buy you one?

[2] Got it in one. You’re sharp.

[1] You’re drunk.

[2] Shush!

[2] Well?

[3] You should listen to your friend.

[2] If I did that I’d be asking how you got here.

[3] Why?

[2] Cause my friends been watching that door next to you all night and you didn’t walk in through it.

[1] Shut up will you!

[1] I’m so very sorry sir. He says a lot of stupid things when he’s drunk.

[1] Now STOP!

[2] Never!

[2] Well? What do you have to say?

Silence

Silence

[3] I say you should have listened to your friend.

[2] Why’s that?

[4] Cause questions are bad.

Inertia

I look to the sky and I wonder why
The fleeting lives are forgotten about
We push and we bare the pain
But eventually there will be nothing
So small and fragile is life
But still we squander all it deals out
Children crying and fighting for air
Food rots and we give no care
Gods are victims in our nightmare
As we cling to the words of someone else
False leaders decide our future “transcendence”
With no real remorse or compassion
Everything has become a chance at fame
Generations past fought for something
While we oblige and herd onward
Claiming our own advancing brilliance
Proving power won against the soul
As freedom is traded for information
Stock markets rose as the new religion
So we buy up every fashionable item
All while more join the hamster wheel
Powered and controlled by other hands
It keeps spinning until we’re weak
Then its time to struggle til death
We’re so smart we unravel ourselves

Watcher

I walk the lands and sail the seas
But all I see is the same disease
War breeds hate which kills everybody
Souls so lost they fade before me

Calls of pain that never go away
Bodies litter the streets each day
No glimpse of hope to rise from decay
Watch as civilization burns away

With flames so high they touch the sky
No one ever questions why
So as the palace becomes a tomb
The pinnacle will be a wound

Fractured grounds dead and dry
Soon you will go with the tide
Washed clean of our disgrace
The universe will always re-calibrate

Taste Of Your Own Medicine

And…back again! No messing. Here is the third in the series of five (as it is Wednesday again, after all). If you want the first and second entries in this series you can get them by clicking Souls In A Jar and Trapped In A Cage. Anyway, let’s get to this new entry:

Transcription/Lost Diary/Old Fathoms/Retelling/Retribution: – Two (2): One (1) Guide, Two (2) Deceiver – Loki

[1] Your tricks will be your downfall. You know that right?

[2] Tricks? Me? I’m sure I don’t know what you mean?

[1] Stop trying to play dumb Loki and just be straight for once.

[2] Fine. You’re so boring.

Silence

[1] So?

[2] What?

[1] Can you ever answer a question?

[2] I can, but I don’t know what question you’re referring to.

[1] The one I asked.

[2] And that was?

[1] You don’t pay attention either. Great. Too interested in the sound of your own voice.

[2] Only voice that matters to me.

[1] Then I’ll repeat myself and hopefully you’ll listen, deceiver.

[1] You know your tricks will be your downfall right?

[2] Why do you think that?

[1] Just answer the question Loki.

[2] No I don’t think they’ll be my downfall because I am Loki, the deceiver, and I cannot be beaten at my own game.

[1] Really? You’re going with I’m unbeatable and infallible.

[2] Infallable?

[1] You don’t know what that means?

[2] Nope.

[1] Then yeah you’ll definitely get duped one day.

[2] By who? You?

[1] This isn’t a challenge Loki.

[2] You still didn’t answer my question.

[1] Ok, fine. No I have no idea who will be your downfall. I just know it will happen. Your tricks can’t last forever.

[2] You’d be surprised.

[1] Really? You think I’ll be surprised? The guy who accepted fate and thus in doing so can now walk your realms.

[2] They’re not realms.

[1] Then what are they?

Silence

[1] You don’t know what else to call them, do you?

[2] Maybe I don’t want to say.

[1] Stop pouting.

[1] But you see what I mean don’t you? Technically you’ve now been defeated.

[2] You care to claim that prize?

[1] I said technically and you know full well I don’t cause you just want to use it as a way of luring me into one of your games.

[2] You are so boring!

[1] I might be but it’s kept me alive and free of your nonsense.

[2] Only cause you’re too dull to try and torment.

[2] I’m not even sure you have an ability to react with that stone face of yours.

[2] In fact, the only time I’ve ever seen it crack is…

[1] Do shut up Loki, you’re giving me a migraine.

[2] People are your weakness.

Silence

[2] I’m right. You can’t stand people suffering. Oh this is good.

[1] Don’t push it deceiver.

[2] Oh come now, cheer up. Just because you know you’re beat.

[1] Don’t play this game Loki.

[2] Why not? I love games. Or do you really wish to warn me?

Silence

[2] I thought not.

[1] You’re impossible.

[2] I know and it’s why I always win.

Silence

[2] Just like I’ll win now.

[1] Loki.

[2] Ta ta. Enjoy your new home.

Silence

[2] Wait. Why can’t I leave?

Silence

[2] What is this? What’s happening?

Silence

[2] I demand an answer!

[1] I told you not to play Loki.

[2] Release me at once! This isn’t funny!

[1] Enjoy a taste of your own medicine deceiver.

[2] Don’t leave me here! Come back! I DEMAND it!

[2] I can’t lose. I’m Loki, deceiver of fools!

[2] This is MY realm!

End

Twisting strands of what could have been
This life is but a balancing beam
One misstep and down you tumble
Broken neck for your trouble

Wish upon a shooting star
Just don’t expect it gets you far
As one wrong move begins to spiral
Say goodbye to your survival

Clasping hands for a future
Do you really want a suture
Empty tones scream in a void
Now your life is destroyed

Words From A Simple King

Faceless gods make shallow claims
This daily fix of fear and shame
Another shot to the hope of dreams
Now lay to rest all that remains
A battered shore that once was home
Ruined lives vultures feast upon
Cloudy skies of a future dies
Wish upon your stolen cries

Honest liars speak too much
The norm has become a crutch
As the drug worms deeper in
Feel new dread controlling
Looming shadows of the lost
This house is but a cross
Open hands and blank eyes
There is no peace to buy

Beautiful monsters offer fame
Tempting lure to end the pain
False friends to make days go by
They will soon claim your life
Rallying sounds are a lie
Soon you will be cast aside
Glory cannot be bought and sold
This is the end of the line

Trapped In A Cage

Hey, its Wednesday again so that means the posting of the second “transcript” of the five. Nothing much else to say here, as I said it in the first part (Souls In A Jar), so enjoy:

Transcript/Lost Diary/Old Fathoms/Retelling/Mistakes and Crime: – Two (2): One (1) Warrior, Two (2) Deceiver – Loki

[1] Why these games?

[2] Of what games do you speak?

[1] You know full well dear deceiver.

[2] I have no idea what you’re accusing me of.

[1] You know full well now dispose of this ruse.

[2] Or?

[1] Or I’ll find your hidden throne and cleave its stone.

[2] You could never find my throne. It’s too hidden for such a drone.

[1] This isn’t funny deceiver.

[2] I laugh not but you are mocking if you think I’ll believe your humming.

[1] No more riddles!

[2] Your commands might be mighty but I am not at all…

[1] Your throne resides inside the redwood on the broken remnants of dreams.

[2] How do you know this? This cannot be, I hid my home so carefully.

[1] Stop!

[1] Not another word, especially in rhyme.

Silence

[1] I know this as mocking and I will not stand for it.

[2] Then what do you wish from me?

Silence

[1] Free the poor souls. Release them from their cages.

[1] In return you’ll last for ages.

[1] Wait. Why?

Silence

[1] What is this deceiver? Why did I rhyme?

[2] You fell into this trap of mine. You shouldn’t have threatened me this time.

[1] Deceiver?!

[2] Enjoy your hell within these walls, for you will never see my halls.

[1] Release me!

[1] Deceiver!

[1] REL-EASE ME!!!!!!!

Haiku’s

Hey everyone, this post is just going to contain a number of haiku’s I wrote. I don’t usually write haiku’s, but these were written to show someone what a haiku is. So I thought why not just share them. Otherwise they’ll sit on my hard drive doing nothing. Enjoy!

Here comes the rain again
With the clouds still rolling in
When will it shine bright

Watch as the sunrise
Beams new light into our eyes
As the daylight dies

Dying for a drink
Where is the old rusty sink
Water that’s still pink

When the flowers grow
And the bright colours still glow
Bask in today’s flow
